Vice-chairman of Milli Majlis Valeh Alaskarov on January 10-15 has visited Moscow and held working meetings at the Federation Council of Federal Assembly of Russia and the State Duma.

According to AzerTAj, the Azeri vice-speaker met with vice-chairperson of the Federation Council Svetlana Orlova, first vice-speaker of State Duma Oleg Morozov, heads of Energy, transport and communications, International relations, Natural resources and use of nature permanent commissions of Duma, where he discussed expansion of inter-parliamentary links, exchange of experience in the field of legislation. The Russian deputies took interest in socio-political processes in Azerbaijan, in particular, in positive results of the economic projects being implemented under guidance of President Ilham Aliyev, including in economic accomplishments in the Republic, expressed readiness to cooperate with the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis established as a result of transparent and democratic elections.

In the meetings, discussed were issues of development of mutual relations between two countries, the questions of Azerbaijanis living in neighboring country, and also cargo transportation, visa issues, trade links, ecological problems of the Caspian, prospects of cooperation in realizations of fuel-energy projects, stressed necessity of preparation of relevant legal base documents.

The sides especially stressed lack of any political problem to impede working links between legislature bodies, and on the contrary, as emphasized, the kind relations between the heads of states promote cooperation between parliaments.
