Parliamentary Elections conducted in Azerbaijan on November 6 will be discussed again at the next sitting of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe on December 15 in Paris.

PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan Andres Herkel said that he will come to Baku together with another co-rapporteur Andreas Gross on December 2 and added that , head of CE Election Observation Mission Leo Platvoet is also expected to come with them.

The co-rapporteur noted that, the objective of the visit is to familiarize with the post-election situation, the investigation of the complaints entered the Central Election Commission: "We shall conduct meetings in the Central Election Commission and with opposition representatives for this purpose".

Herkel underlined that more thorough discussions will be held about Azerbaijan on the Paris session on December 15: "We discussed the elections conducted in Azerbaijan only for 50 minutes as there were a lot of issues to be discussed last week. We shall suggest the Monitoring Committee to make a special declaration or a statement on the elections".

Expressing his awareness of the incident on November 26 rally, the co-rapporteur called the situation in Azerbaijan "more difficult" than the previous one. Herkel said he will stay in Baku for four days and leave for Tbilisi then: "Speaker of Estonian parliament will come to Georgia and I shall leave for Georgia to accompany him during his visit. Andreas Gross will be on short-term visit".
