A joint meeting of the Supreme Majlis of the Azerbaijan Democrat Party (ADP) and National Committee to organize the return of Rasul Guliyev to Azerbaijan was held in the headquarters of the party yesterday.

The only question discussed in the meeting was determination of the date of Rasul Guliyev’s return to Azerbaijan.

The chairman of the ADP Supreme Majlis Akif Shahbazov informed that formation of the National Committee already completed. Sardar Jalaloghlu was elected the chairman, Panah Huseyn the vice-chairman of the committee. The 1st deputy of the ADP chairman S.Jalaloghlu informed in his speech that the decision on the return to Azerbaijan could be made by R.Guliyev as a citizen, or ADP as a party: “However, it could yield less effective result. That is why we decided to form the committee. We have taken all possible steps both for the return of Rasul Gulioyev and establishment of the democracy in the country till now. But it seems that these steps are not enough, we must take more important steps and make greater sacrifices for establishment of the democracy in Azerbaijan in a desired level”.

S.Jalaloghlu noted importance of R.Guliyev’s return to Azerbaijan as one of such steps. P.Huseyn said that there is a need to strengthen the activity for the return of the ADP chairman: “Rasul Guliyev must return to Azerbaijan till October 15 in any way. His return will create a new qualitative change in the country. This is also a chance for the authority. The authority will determine its own future by welcoming him”.

It was decided in the result of the discussions that R.Guliyev’s return to Azerbaijan must be ensured on October 15. It was informed that the exact date of the return will be determined in these days and that date will be informed to the public 5 days before.

It is informed in the decision that if the authority takes any negative step towards R.Guliyev, all responsibility for events that may happen will fall upon the authority.
