Council of Europe Committee of Ministers “Aqo” monitoring group will come to Baku on 29 June.

The group led by German diplomat Ronald Vegener is composed of the ambassadors of seven member countries of Council of Europe.

Besides the “Aqo” group the delegation includes 3 associates of CE secretariat. APA was informed from Council of Europe General Secretary special representative’s office in Baku that, the objective of the visit is to be familiar with the pre-election situation in the country and the situation on complying with the commitments Azerbaijan undertook before Council of Europe. The European diplomats will conduct meetings with Azerbaijani human rights defenders, political party leaders.

They are expected to meet the officials of Azerbaijan, too. The diplomats are going to conduct meetings at the President’s Office, Justice Ministry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CEC.

Besides, “Aqo” group will meet Azerbaijani delegation to PACE. The “Aqo” group will end its visit to Baku on 2 July.
