Ilham Aliyev received the municipality heads of Isgenderun, Payas, Jeyhan, Sarimazi, Mersin-Toroslar, Lapseki cities of Turkey and the representatives of Azerbaijan circles working in this country.

This was informed to APA from the press-service of the President's Office. Ilham Aliyev said that he is pleased with arriving of such a big staff in Baku and he also noted that there will be nice results of their numerous meetings to be conducted here. He stated that there is a high-level relationship between our countries and said he considers strengthening of brotherhood and friendship relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan to be his main duty.

The head of state said that the results of his last year's official visit to Turkey was successful and noted that the opening of the consulate in the Gars province of Turkey is a significant event: "Our political, economical and cultural relations are expanding. Baku-Tbilisi Ceyhan oil-pipeline is being constructed connecting us economically, this month we shall mark its presence to exploitation. At the same time, gas pipe-line is also being built. All of these will be considerable for our economies and will strengthen our positions both in the region and world. Turkey and Azerbaijan are very dynamically developing countries. Our economy is growing in great speed and the economic stability of our country is getting better. How much we are strong, that much our interests will be guaranteed".

Simultaneously Ilham Aliyev said that there are some forces preventing the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey, great energetic projects and other tasks. From this viewpoint he noted the importance of strengthening of the unity of our nations and close collaboration in the processes ongoing in the regions.

In the meeting, there were discussions on the problems of mutual interests.
