Azerbaijani Ambassador to Mali Tarik Aliyev has presented his credentials to country`s President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita.

Aliyev provided an insight into Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying Azerbaijan now has more than one million refugees and IDPs, Azertac reported.

The two also exchanged views on cooperation prospects, and pointed out great potential for development of relation between the two countries.

President Boubacar Keita asked the Azerbaijani ambassador to extend best wishes to President Ilham Aliyev.

The two counties established diplomatic relations in November  1996.  

Mali is keen to develop bilateral ties with Azerbaijan and seeks to study Azerbaijan's experience, technical capabilities as well as management experience in various fields of economy.

There are also good prospects for cooperation with Azerbaijan in military-technical and energy spheres.
