The Baku International Policy and Security Network Expert Council and Russian Center of Lev Gumilev signed an agreement on cooperation.

The agreement was signed in Baku by Director of the Lev Gumilev Center Pavel Zarifullin and Director of the Baku International Policy and Security Network, PhD Elkhan Alasgarov.

The event was timed to coincide with the 105th birthday anniversary of the outstanding Russian scientist-Turkologist, Lev Gumilev, who is the author of numerous scientific works on the history of ancient Turks and their influence on the ethnogenesis of the modern Russian people.

Speaking about the traditions of friendship and cooperation between the peoples of Russia and Azerbaijan, the parties expressed their intention to promote development and strengthening of the ties between the intellectual elites of the two countries.

The parties plan to hold joint meetings of representatives of the expert community, the intellectual elite, as well as Turkologists in order to promote cooperation and strengthen scientific and socio-cultural ties

On the same day, an expert discussion was held on the Baku Network platform, dedicated to Lev Gumilev's creative heritage and its significance for Russia and Azerbaijan.
