President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva and Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his spouse Emine Erdogan have today had a joint dinner.

A ceremony to sign Azerbaijan-Turkey documents has today been held in Ankara as part of President Ilham Aliyev’s official visit to the country.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed a declaration on results of the Azerbaijan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Turkey Faig Bagirov and President of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey-TUBITAK Yucel Altunbasak signed a protocol between the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the field of science and technology.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov and Turkish Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs, and Communications Binali Yildirim signed a memorandum of understanding on strengthening science, technology, industry and entrepreneurship between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of Turkey.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov and Turkish Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs, and Communications Binali Yildirim signed an agreement in the field of the international combined shipping between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Internal Affairs Ramil Usubov and Turkey’s Minister of Internal Affairs Muammer Guler signed a cooperation agreement between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the field of security.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Salim Muslumov and Turkish Minister of Labor and Social Security Faruk Celik signed an agreement on mutual activities of workforce between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The 3rd session of Azerbaijan-Turkey High Level Cooperation Council has been held in Ankara.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the meeting.

They hailed the bilateral relations in a variety of fields, particularly political, economic, and energy ones.

The Azerbaijani President and the Turkish Premier stressed the importance of implementation of joint projects.

They also noted the significance of further developing cooperation between relevant ministries of Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has today visited the Heydar Aliyev Park in Ankara as part of his official trip to Turkey.

The park, which covers a total area of eight hectares, was named after national leader Heydar Aliyev in 2008. There is a monument to the national leader in the center of the park.

The Head of State placed flowers at the monument.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today met Chairman of Grand National Assembly of Turkey Cemil Cicek.

They discussed the current state of and prospects for friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

They noted ties between the two countries share common historical and cultural roots and have strong foundations.

Expansion of interparliamentary ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey was also discussed at the meeting.

They praised Turkish Grand National Assembly’s support of Azerbaijan’s position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. They emphasized the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments.

They also noted the fraternal countries will continue supporting each other.

Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Abdullah Gul have today viewed the Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc.

They first watched the flying performances of the “Hurkush” basic trainer aircraft and the “T129” attack helicopter from the control tower.

The Head of State was informed that Turkish Aircraft Industries Corporation (TUSAS) was established in 1973 under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology in order to reduce the foreign dependency in defense industry in Turkey.

With the decision of meeting the combat aircraft requirement of Turkish Air Force (TurAF) with F-16s, TUSAS Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI) was established by Turkish and US partners in 1984 for a period of 25 years with the aim of carrying out the manufacture, system integration and flight tests of F-16 that would be delivered to the TurAF.

TAI was restructured in 2005, just before the 25 years of period came to an end, with the acquisition of foreign shares by Turkish shareholders. Along with this restructuring, the TAI and the TUSAS have merged under the roof of the TAI and have broadened its activities. Today, known as TAI it has become Turkey's center of technology in design, development, modernization, manufacturing, integration and life cycle support of integrated aerospace systems, from fixed and rotary wing air platforms to UAVs and satellites.

TAI is ranked among the top hundred global players in aerospace and defence arena.
President Ilham Aliyev reviewed technical parameters of the “Hurkush” basic trainer aircraft which was recently remodeled.

The Head of State also was informed on the technical parameters of the “T129” attack helicopter.

The facilities cover an area of 274,000 square meters under roof while the TAI totally occupies an area of 5 million square meters.

The Company has a modern aircraft facility furnished with high technology machinery and equipment that provide extensive manufacturing capabilities ranging from parts manufacturing to aircraft assembly, flight tests and delivery.

The Head of State was informed on the “ANKA” unmanned aircraft.

Following the award giving ceremony, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Turkish leader Abdullah Gul had a meeting in Ankara.

They hailed bilateral friendly and fraternal relations, saying they are based on strategic cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, energy and other spheres.

They said the official visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Turkey would further contribute to strengthening the bilateral relations.

A ceremony has been held at the Cankaya Kosku presidential residence in Ankara to award the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The ceremony first heard the decision of the Cabinet of Turkey to award President Ilham Aliyev with the Order of State of the Turkish Republic, and the Executive Order of the Azerbaijani President to confer Heydar Aliyev Order upon President Abdullah Gul.

The President of Turkey presented President Ilham Aliyev with the Order of State.

The Head of State handed over Heydar Aliyev Order to President of Turkey Abdullah Gul.
Presidents Abdullah Gul and Ilham Aliyev then addressed the ceremony.

The President of Azerbaijan and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva, and the President of Turkey and his spouse Hayrunnise Gul posed for photographs.

The highest award of the Republic of Turkey, the Order of State was established in 1998. It is awarded by the decision of the Council of Ministers based on recommendations of the President of Turkey. It is given to foreign presidents for their contribution to expanding friendly and close relations with Turkey.

President Ilham Aliyev visits AnitkabirPresident of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has visited Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic.

The Azerbaijani President placed a wreath at the grave of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today been given an official welcome at the Cankaya Kosku presidential residence in Anraka, Turkey.

A ceremonial guard of honor was lined up for the Azerbaijani President at the square in front of the residence decorated with national flags of Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul welcomed President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva.

The military orchestra performed state anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey. The presidents reviewed the ceremonial guard of honor.

Turkish officials were introduced to President Ilham Aliyev, while members of the Azerbaijani delegation were introduced to President Abdullah Gul.

The two presidents and their spouses then posed for photographs.
