Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's policy is based on national sentiments, needs and national interests, Head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Social and Political Department Ali Hasanov said at a general meeting of young scholars at the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences on Wednesday.
Hasanov also spoke on the issue related to the individuals opposing to President Aliyev today.
"Someone says that the approval for support has not been received from all foreign countries yet," he said. "The most important thing is to get these countries' consent, and then come and become the president. Just look where they are looking for support to become the President of Azerbaijan."
"Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev does not hold and will not hold the pre-election campaign because he does not need the campaign," he said. "He thinks about the future of the generations. His work is his campaign. If the elite, and the most conscious part of the Azerbaijani youth supports Ilham Aliyev's candidacy, then his policy is correct."
The presidential elections are planned to be held in Azerbaijan in autumn.
