“The resolution of the Maine House of Representatives and Senate calling to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence damages peace process,” Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov has said.
“It can only damage the Nagorno-Karabakh peace settlement process. The Armenian diaspora in the United States is behind all that. They call to recognize independence of Nagorno-Karabakh, but that approach cannot contribute to the conflict settlement,” he said, describing the measure as an attempt to create an impression that someone wishes to recognize the country.
