Changing the status of the OSCE Office in Baku is not particularly important for the foreign policy of Azerbaijan, the Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Social and Political Department Ali Hasanov told reporters.
"The OSCE Mission is present in every country. It generally is an intergovernmental organization, to which each member-country has delegated appropriate authority, and the OSCE carries its mission on security and cooperation within this authority. Azerbaijan, as always, will continue to cooperate with the OSCE on these issues," Hasanov underscored.
He added that however, the OSCE mission is sometimes "loaded" with some domestic and regional issues, and strays from its main tasks.
"Azerbaijan has expressed its thoughts in this regard," Hasanov said.
Recall that the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has sent a request to the OSCE on reducing the status of its Office in Baku.
