Azerbaijani-Lithuanian political consultations under the leadership of Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov and department head at the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry, Edminas Bagdonas in Baku, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

Azerbaijan has chosen the development of relations with European institutions, including with Lithuania as its priority, and it is a partner for the EU in the energy security of Europe, Khalafov said at the meeting.

Informing the guests about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Khalafov called the EU to hold concrete position on this issue.

Lithuania will assume the EU presidency in mid-2013 and it intends to increase efficiency of cooperation within the "Eastern Partnership" program with all member countries, including Azerbaijan, Bagdonas said.
