“Azerbaijan is concerned over the clashes in the Middle East and feels regret over the suffering of civilians and killing of innocent people,” spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev  said while commenting on the situation in Gaza.

He said Azerbaijan always supported peaceful solution to the conflicts and peace. “We want peace and stability to be established in the Middle East,” he said.

Elman Abdullayev said Azerbaijan, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, is closely watching the situation and participating in the process of settlement. “Azerbaijan is ready to participate in the peaceful resolution of this problem within the UN Security Council,” he said.
