President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a delegation led by Cornelia Pieper, Minister of State at the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Cornelia Pieper conveyed German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle `s greetings to the Head of State. Ms. Pieper said that Germany always supports Azerbaijan after the country regained its independence.
German Minister of State said that this was her first visit to Azerbaijan praising the establishment of the German-Azerbaijan Foreign Trade Chamber. She highly appreciated the opening of Foreign Trade Chamber in the region for the first time in Azerbaijan.
The Head of State noted that the establishment of the German- Azerbaijan Foreign Trade Chamber was a good indictor of the cooperation between the two countries.
President Ilham Aliyev underlined the significance of the Trade Chamber from the point of view of joint activity of Azerbaijani and German businessmen and implementation of projects. The Head of State said that the Trade Chamber would operate successfully.
The sides also exchanged views on enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of industry, energy, investment, education, tourism and others.
President Ilham Aliyev asked German Minister of State to pass on his greetings to the Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received President of the European Olympic Committees Patrick Hickey.
They stressed the importance of measures to develop all kinds of sports in Azerbaijan. They hailed achievements of Azerbaijani athletes in international competitions, including at the London Olympic Games.
They discussed issues related to expanding cooperation among the county`s sports authorities and the European Olympic Committees even more.
