Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov met Friday Dutch delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation Maxime Verhagen.

The discussions focused on Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation, the role of the country in ensuring peace and security.

Mammadyarov briefed the Dutch delegation on the ongoing economic reforms in Azerbaijan, saying his country attaches great importance to development of non-oil sector.
Verhagen, in turn, said diversification of economy was important for development of Azerbaijan-Netherlands cooperation.

Mammadyarov touched upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, saying the existing status-quo is unacceptable. He added official Yerevan`s unconstructive position hinders the peace negotiations to settle the conflict.

Verhagen said the Netherlands supports Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity and considers that peace negotiations should be continued.
