Tajik ambassador to Azerbaijan Zokir Vazirov died in Baku from heart disease, Embassy of Tajikistan in Azerbaijan told Trend.

Vazirov had a stroke and was treated.

The funeral of Vazirov will be held in Tajikistan.

Vazirov was born on May 5, 1948 in the Tavildara region of Tajikistan. He had a higher education, graduated with honors from the Tajik State Pedagogical Institute, Department of History. He was a doctor of philosophical sciences, professor. He was a specialist in the social philosophy of Islam and economy. Vazirov had more than 200 scientific publications.

He served as vice-premier of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic.
