Azerbaijani ambassador to Lithuania Hasan Mammadzade has met with Vilnius Mayor Arturas Zuokas. The sides discussed issues on efficient use of existing potential for development of Azerbaijan-Lithuania relations and cooperation of prospects between Baku and Vilnius.
Mayor of Vilnius noted his visits as journalist to several regions of Azerbaijan, especially to front line 20 years ago. Hasan Mammadzade updated Arturas Zuokas on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict stressing the importance of resolution within Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity, withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied Azerbaijani lands and restoration of peace in the region.
Azerbaijani diplomat expressed his gratitude for support by the political group led by Vilnius Mayor in Lithuanian Seimas. Hasan Mammadzade also thanked for the video and other materials taken from Arturas Zuokas`s private archive for to shoot the film on Khojaly tragedy supported by the vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva.
Mr.Mammadzade highlighted progress achieved in numerous fields in Azerbaijan and international projects being implemented in the country and the region. The sides exchanged views on establishment of cooperation between youth organizations of Azerbaijan and Lithuania, carrying out reciprocal visits and organization of joint summer camps.
They also agreed on joint project to the effect.
