The International Press Center on Thursday hosted a presentation of the book "Genocide of Azerbaijanis: the bloody annals of history".

The author of the book's idea is head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev.

The book, prepared by the editors of the 'Azerbaijan' newspaper, is dedicated to the memory of founder of the Azerbaijani state, national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Director-General of the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AzerTAc) Aslan Aslanov, opening the event on the presentation of the fundamental two-volume edition, said that March 31 - Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis - is one of the bitter pages of Azerbaijani history. "Anyone looking through this invaluable book, once again will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the historical roots of genocide, committed by Armenia against the Azerbaijani people, look deeply into the essence of Armenian fascism, and the essence of Armenians," he said.

Addressing the meeting, editor of the 'Azerbaijan' newspaper, MP Bakhtiyar Aliyev spoke about the historical significance of the book. He noted that the book "Genocide of Azerbaijanis: the bloody annals of history" should be translated into Russian and English.

In his speech, the Director the Institute of History of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Yagub Mammadov said that recently works, documentary collections, dedicated to the genocide of the Azerbaijani people have been created. He noted a presentation of another documentary book, telling about the facts of the genocide will be held soon.

If the Azerbaijanis around the world do not give an adequate response on a fictitious "Armenian genocide" to fictitious historians in the country they live in, then we will lose a lot, Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Social and Political Department Chief Ali Hasanov said. "Heart of every Azerbaijani should be willing to join the activities related to the exposure of genocide of Azerbaijanis," he said.

It is necessary to create monumental works on national leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev, said Hasanov. He stressed that sometimes there is information that a book is written about Heydar Aliyev and Ilham Aliyev, but it is not allowed to be published. There are people who, having written a book about Heydar Aliyev, try to cash in on it. Sometimes respected people are engaged in such activities. They write multi-volume books, which take place only in the author's personal library, he said.

In general, it is better to create a chronicle of the history of Karabakh, Nakhchivan, to create works about the genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis than to write books, that do not represent the public interest, said Hasanov.
