Azerbaijani ambassador to India Ibrahim Hajiyev has met the country`s Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed. They discussed relationship between the two countries.

The ambassador said his country attaches great importance to development of economic cooperation with India. He said Azerbaijan`s Youth and Sports Ministry has invited 10 Indian youngsters to the country on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations. He also touched upon bilateral economic cooperation, saying trade turnover between the two countries made up $411 million in 2011. The diplomat also underlined the necessity of signing new documents.

E. Ahamed, in turn, said India is interested in expansion of economic cooperation with Azerbaijan. He also expressed confidence that both India and Azerbaijan, as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council, would cooperate intensively.
