The Moscow representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has organized a personal exhibition of Azerbaijani painter Asgar Mammadov. The exhibition, called Two wings of the heart, was organized in collaboration with the Library for Foreign Literature, Azerbaijan Culture Centre and Azerbaijan`s embassy in Moscow.

Speaking to the event, ambassador, Polad Bulbuloglu, thanked the Moscow representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Library for Foreign Literature “for this opportunity to familiarize the Russian society with high art of the Azerbaijani artist, who praises the beauty of his motherland as well as Russia, the country he has been living in for many years”.

The ambassador said the exhibition was “a remarkable event in terms of the interpenetration of our cultures through the unique art of Asgar Mammadov”.

Director of the Library for Foreign Literature, Yekaterina Geniyeva, thanked the representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for establishing the Azerbaijani Culture Center at the library. She congratulated Mammadov on the opening of his exhibition, and read out a congratulatory message of the Russian culture minister.

Greeting messages of director of the Azerbaijan Culture Center, Nina Mustafayeva, and chairman of the Russian Cinematographers Union, Nikita Mikhalkov, were also read out at the event.

Mammadov thanked the representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its vice-president Leyla Aliyeva for organizing the exhibition. The artist said the name of his exhibition – Two wings of the heart – symbolizes Azerbaijan and Russia.

The exhibition features nearly 50 works of Mammadov, including those reflecting the Khojaly tragedy and Azerbaijan`s refugee problem. The painter`s works have been on display in Moscow, Baku, Spain, Israel, Germany and Cyprus.
