A bereaved fiancé who was about to throw himself off a bridge in Russia has found love again – with a woman who was set to leap from the same spot.
Andriej Ivanov, 26, and Maria Petrova, 21, talked it over after he spotted her climbing the railings of the bridge in Ufa, and fell for each other instead.
Petrova had been thrown out by her parents after becoming pregnant.
‘That night saved my life – and hers,’ said Mr Ivanov. The couple are now planning to get married.
