Prince William and Kate recently saw their Kensington Palace get renovated in a £1 million overhaul, but the Daily Mail reports that the couple (well, Kate, at least) are not thrilled with some of the aesthetics. Kate is said to be "dissatisfied" with the color of the walls in one of the rooms. She had attempted "to save money" by getting "Dulux paints to match the Farrow & Ball color palette," but now is regretting the decision as "one room came out with a horrible, unexpected purple tinge." Yikes! We are imagining the color of a bruise on a thigh, or a rotten eggplant, and it is displeasing. Kate is reportedly blaming this headache on her pregnancy hormones, as she planned the design of the room when she was pregnant with Prince George.

Kate, don't be so hard on yourself; sometimes in life, we've found, you need to see the "horrible purple tinge" to understand what it is you actually do want. (The number of jeans we've purchased in a certain, enthusiastic mindset only to return them the next day after spending some time in the sober reflection of the bathroom mirror is too high to count.)

Kate is well on her way to rectifying the situation, having hired a new interior designer, who will also be working on their country home, Anmer Hall. The Palace said any additional design-related costs would be covered privately by the royal family, as the £1 million of public funds already spent went toward the "essential structural work that needed to be completed by whoever moved into the buildings." The new color of the walls in the room in question has not been revealed. When they toured Los Angeles in 2011, Kate was overheard explaining she didn't know if she had a favorite color, before ultimately settling on white. William's response? "Definitely blue." (Blue also happens to be the color Kate wears the most.) We think a good guess would be whatever color the walls of this room were in her last house.
