Cinema historian Aydin Kazimzadeh called Azerbaijani legend of XX century People's Artist, Laureate of USSR State Prize Leyla Badirbeyli, whose "90 years anniversary" will be held on Friday at the Museum Center by the state film archives.

"She was a creative person with the widest range: she was as bright theatre actress and movie star, a wonderful dancer," said Kazimzadeh.

On screen, she played the heroine women: the wives of Mirza Fatali Akhundov and Fatali Khan, Khan's daughter in love with Koroglu in the film of the same name. Her “golden” image was the role of Gulchohra in the movie "Not that, but this".

"One of those who had seen the movie in Bulgaria, wrote that their newly born only daughter would be named after Leyla Badirbeyli, who had played this role so successfully," said Kazimzadeh.

Badirbeyli was a soloist of Song and Dance Ensemble, actress of Azdrama from 1942-1975. She died in 1999.
