Fikrat Gasimzade, a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of East London, created an original project of a modern White Mosque that could be built in Baku, next to Baku White City (Aghshahar), one of the largest urban development projects in the world.

"As an architect, I even visually walk around Baku and think about how it will look beautiful! The white mosque is considered unconventional from the point of view of architecture, and this distinguishes it from others, and at the same time the main Islamic attributes, in particular, two minarets of the building are taken into account. One of the main criteria for the creation of the project is the propaganda of the Turkic world, " Gasimzade told Trend Life.

"Therefore, the project of the mosque resembles the shape of a yurta (chadir or tent), taken from ancient times, the epic Dede Korkut. There are two doves at the top of the building - a symbol of peace. At the same time, a huge dome identifies grandeur and secularism. The location of the mosque next to Baku White City and Baku Boulevard will make it attractive not only for believers, but also for tourists," he added.

In accordance with its draft, the mosque occupies a territory of 2 hectares with the corresponding ramified infrastructure. It consists of 2 floors with an area of 7,000 cubic meters, the hall for ceremonies also consists of 2 floors with an area of 5,000 cubic meters. On the territory of the complex there is a large prayer hall, two small prayer halls (for men and women), rooms for ablution and religious figures, a museum, halls for ceremonies, religious ceremonies, conferences as well as underground parking for 1,000-1,500 cars.
