Azerbaijani film " The Black Ribbon " by Amil Mamiyev has awarded the prize in "Best film"  nomination at Hak-?? Short Film Festival in Tukrey.

The male lead Elkhan Abbasov was named the best actor at the festival.

The winners were awarded by the Turkish Culture and Tourism Numan Kurtulmush, Trend Life reported.

"The Black Ribbon" is a dramatic story set in Baku and near the settlement of refugees of Hadzhikabul city – in Qizilburun.

The name of the movie is related to a tree of wishes, tied up by black tapes which can be seen as a metaphor of the sad events occurring in Karabakh. The movie describes the mode of life of the refugees, their sense of longing for Karabakh.

Armenia broke out a lengthy war against Azerbaijan by laying territorial claims on the country. Since a war in the early 1990s. As a result of the ensuing war, Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding regions. More than 20,000 Azerbaijanis were killed and over 1 million were displaced as a result of the large-scale hostilities.

The screenwriter and the production director of the movie is Amil Mamiyev, operator-director is Rauf Gurbanaliyev, production designer-Aziz Mammadov, and artistic director-Jamil Guliyev.

"The Black Ribbon" was produced by Arif Safarov and Mushfig Gatamov.

The cast includes Vidadi Aliyev, Elkhan Abbasov, Rasim Jafar, Ayshad Mammadov, Mezakhir Gashimov and others.
