A colorful Moroccan Fashion Show timed to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held at the Residence of Morocco’s Ambassador in Baku on November 9.

Members of diplomatic corps, cultural figures, fashion industry experts, famous designers, including Azerbaijan’s Honored Art Worker Fahriya Khalafova, and mass media representatives attended the event.

Ahead of the Fashion Show, Ambassador of Morocco to Azerbaijan Mohamed Adil Embarch, told Azernews about the event, stressing that today there are many things to celebrate.

“We celebrate so many things at this event - the National Flag Day, 25th anniversary of diplomatic relation and beautiful women. The show is all about the beauty of women - a Moroccan woman and also an Azerbaijani woman,” he said.

Commenting on the anniversary of diplomatic relations, the envoy noted that our countries enjoy very good relations.

“The main thing is that we have very good relations with Azerbaijan. In the political level, we support each other with regards to the territorial integrity of both countries. We enjoy very good economic ties. We organize so many events both in Azerbaijan and Morocco. The relations between the leadership of both states are at the highest level. We conduct exchange of visits at different levels. At the same time, we are trying to improve the relations and make them even more fruitful,” he said.

In his opening speech, Ambassador congratulated the people of Azerbaijan with the National Flag Day. Furthermore, he expressed gratitude to Hind Joudar, CEO of the Paris-based Oriental Fashion Show, and her team for the support.

During the show, leading Moroccan designers – Zineb Joundy, Manale Dinar and Abdel Fatah Qadience - introduced their collections of traditional clothes with national motives. The creation of the Moroccan caftan takes a long time as it is handmade.

Zineb Joundy took her first steps in the world of fashion under the watchful eyes of Karl Lagerfeld and Lanvin. Her caftans are bespoke art pieces and her avant-garde exhibitions have been presented all over the world, including Paris, London, New York, Istanbul, Bahrain and Baku.

Manale Dinar made a big jump in the world of fashion and joined a renowned school of fashion and design for three years. Proud of her Moroccan culture, she makes her heritage shine through magnificent collections of caftans.

Abdel Fatah Qadience is labeled and recognized by the Moroccan Ministry of Handicrafts. He is a bearer of the Moroccan clothing heritage that he wishes to reveal internationally.

The event, which fascinated the quests with the colorful and gorgeous caftans, was held within the framework of Azerbaijan Fashion Week (AFW) that is currently taking place in the capital of the country.

The headliners of the sixth season of the Fashion Week are the designers of the Oriental Fashion Show, the first of its kind defile, organized in Paris and intended to open the world to the high fashion of the East.

AFW showrooms will be available on November 8-10, from 15:00 to 21:00.

Azerbaijan Fashion Week is held twice a year in November and May. The event is organized by Fashion Consulting Group and supported by Azerbaijan  Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
