Days of Azerbaijani Culture has started in Iran.

Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev met with Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Salehi Amiri in Iran in this regard.

Speaking at the press conference, Garayev said that the mutual holding of Days of Culture creates an opportunity for close ties between the two nations.

The ministers said that the presidents of the two countries aim to expand relations in all spheres, including culture and tourism, 1news.az reported.

A number of concerts, performances photo exhibition are arranged in various cities of Iran.The Culture Days aim to develop bilateral cultural cooperation between the two countries, as well as to promote Azerbaijan's culture, art, tourism potential in Iran.

Earlier in May, Baku hosted the Iranian Culture Days within the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games.

The events aroused big interest among Baku’s residents. Representatives of the country performed at a series of concerts, featuring country's national songs and dance numbers.

Azerbaijan and Iran have had diplomatic relations since 1918. Iran recognized Azerbaijan's independence in 1991, and diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1992.

The two countries enjoy developed political, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations, have signed some 50 documents on cooperation.
