An Azerbaijani pavilion has been opened at the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan, Trend Life reported.

Entitled "Azerbaijan- the pearl of Caucasus", the national pavilion was organized under the project of the Cultural Centre named after Heydar Aliyev and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Tashkent.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of scientific institutions, public and cultural figures, representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora and many others.

Museum's Director Zhannat Ismailova, addressing the event, said that Azerbaijan has great importance for Uzbekistan, further emphasizing the close ties between the two nations .

"I'm  confident that the opening of the pavilion "Azerbaijan – the pearl of Caucasus" at the museum will promote the country and reveal a number of new and interesting facts about Azerbaijan ," she said.

Director of Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev, Samir Abbasov said that the stands of the pavilion will showcase exhibits reflecting the statehood of Azerbaijan, its history, culture, unique nature, customs and traditions, literature and tourism potential.

The event continued with fascinating performance of dance ensemble "Azerbaijan kizlari" and Uzbek singers.

Hundreds of Tashkent citizens and guests of the capital has already visited national pavilion.

National ornaments, vintage baby cradle, household items, spinning wheel, tea table, agricultural tools that were used by the Azerbaijani peasants, tandyr ovens made this exposition truly amazing.

Beautiful silk carpets woven in various regions of Azerbaijan, national musical instruments – tar, saz, balaban, zurna, eye-catching traditional clothes of Azerbaijan's Karabakh region and much more were displayed in the pavilion.

Azerbaijani pavilion will operate until December 31, 2016.

After its completion, several historical and cultural exhibits will be donated to the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan.
