The opening ceremony of "Shadows of the past time" exhibition will be held in "Art Villa" gallery in Baku on November 6.

To be organized by Arts Council Azerbaijan, the event will start at 19:00 at the gallery located at the street Hasan Seidbeyli, 9. The exhibition will last for one day. Entrance is free for public.

The artists of the exhibition, which is aimed to reflect the influence of the past on the development of art and culture are Rustam Huseynov and Tofig Rashidov.

The photos of the most interesting emotional sculptures Pere Lachaise, Montparnasse and Pir Sophie Hamid, reflecting the sculptural expression in different religious and cultural traditions will also be put on display during the exhibition.

Life is the greatest gift and a unique opportunity for a person to express himself or herself. But physical life has its limits. Sometimes it is very short and becomes hard especially when we lose the bright, talented and beloved people around us. It is true that a man lives as long as people have a memory of him/her.

There are different ways to save memory, and one of the most interesting one is the visual art of sculpture in which our feeling gains momentum. This embodiment passes through the ages in the form of grandeur and beauty. Some embodiments are so elegant that can delight our eyes with each dash.

Sometimes, in order to convey the range of emotions, one uses a collective image, for example an angel or antique story. In Islamic tradition where images of persons are prohibited as a collective image, some stylized fruits and items are used instead.

Creation a sculptural monument requires a lot of talents. But serious and repeated efforts can lead to build a monument which seems alive reflecting a range of different feelings even after a century. Creating such pieces requires not only a high level of professionalism but also special emotional mood of the artist.

Years will pass and creators and initiators will leave us but their memory will stay with us. Walking in museums displaying the artistic pieces would show us the fragility of life and the impermanence of the world.
