A conference entitled “Role of the folklore on protection of national-moral values and situation in the folklore researching in Azerbaijan” has been held in Sweden.  The conference saw discussions on Azerbaijan`s folklore, as well as tales, beliefs, ashyg literature and the other issues.

Counsellor of international department of Folklore Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Ali Shamil briefed the participants on Azerbaijan`s folklore, as well as its oral literature.
He also noted that the country`s folklore was a part of the oral literature, which reflected the high moral and ethical values, particularly leading trends of the aesthetic sense.

Ali Shamil said that folklore was peoples` history. Azeri Poet living in Sweden Eluca Atali stressed the importance of the conference and highlighted each projects in the direction of learning of the country`s history, folklore, as well as oral literature.

She also noted that the history of every people began with its oral and written literature and added that to preserve this literature was very important.
