English-language books on Azerbaijan`s history, culture and art were donated to the libraries of Stockholm with the organizational support of the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AzerTAc).

Elisabeth Allstedt, regional chief of the Stockholm city library thanked for the donation. “The books are really wonderful,” she said. “They came very opportunely since the victory of Azerbaijan in the Eurovision song contest raised our readers` great interest in your country.”
Allstedt is going to visit Baku later in April and, according to her, the books will let her know better the country, which has become considerably active in international arena.
“We intend to display these books on a stand as new arrivals. We are also keen on getting books on not only Azerbaijan but also works by Azerbaijani writers,” Allstedt said.
The regional chief reminded of little Azerbaijani readers of the library who would be happy to read fairy-tales in the native language. The books on Azerbaijan were also presented to the Ekero library.
“These are the first books about Azerbaijan, and they will necessarily take their place on the shelves of our library,” director of the Ekero library Osa Hjoberi said. After getting the books, Hjoberi came up with the idea to organize an Azerbaijan-related event featuring video and more information about the country.
“Azerbaijan is a bridge between East and West. We want our readers to get to know about the rich culture, and mugham, which is very unique for the European ear,” she said.
