Draft amendments to the laws on "Electric Energy" and "Gas supply" were submitted to the Azerbaijani parliament for discussion at a meeting on Tuesday.

Speaking about the amendments, Deputy Speaker Valeh Asgarov said they are a step toward protecting consumer rights.

According to the amendments, illegally cutting off gas, electricity and heating lines or suspending gas, electricity and heating without sending a written notification to a consumer is prohibited.

MPs stressed that strict steps should be taken in this direction. Following the discussions, the MPs approved the amendments to the draft law.
