Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH has today submitted a comprehensive transportation proposal to the Shah Deniz 2consortiumm, the Nabucco consortium reported.

Managing Director at the Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH Reinhard Mitschek said the consortium is confident that Nabucco offers the best export route for gas from Azerbaijan and from other sources.

"Nabucco project is commercially viable and competitive. Political support and stability has been granted by a Treaty with duration of 50 years signed by all five transit countries, as well as by bilateral project support agreements. Nabucco offers a win-win situation for suppliers and transportation customers," he said.

Nabucco envisages gas supplies from the Caspian region and the Middle East to the EU countries. Participants of the project are Austrian OMV, Hungarian MOL, Bulgarian Bulgargaz, Romanian Transgaz, Turkish Botas and German RWE companies. Each of participants has equal share to the amount of 16.67 percent. The project's construction is planned to start in 2013. The pipeline's maximum capacity will hit 31 billion cubic meters per year.
