Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Communications and IT will realize urgent exchange of electron money with several CIS countries and Lithuania.
Ministry says Azerpocht will implement urgent exchange of electron money with Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan and Lithuania. Appropriate legal document has already been prepared with Ukraine and Belarus, it will be tested in Ukraine and start to operate within the next two months. Exchange of electron money with Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan and Lithuania will be realized till the end of this year.
Note that, the activity on development of money transfers via these countries is implemented within the framework of the regional development plan of post for CIS countries and UPU’s long-term project. The project considers joining of all countries of the region to STEFİ/İFS/İFS Light system. The project has been directed to extension and strengthening of e-mail payment system in Europe and CIS for improvement of organization of money transfers between the interested sides. Implementation period of the project covers 2010-2012. at present, the project covers Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. Soon, Baltic countries, Eastern Europe and some countries of the CIS will join this project too. Necessary demands for entering the e-mail payments network via IFS/STEFI programs of UPU. And it will help to develop post-financial services for countries and allow use other financial services rendered at postal service offices.
