The sale of melon in the market in “8-ci km” settlement of Baku has been banned, head of Republic Control Toxicology Laboratory of State Phytosanitary Control Service under Agriculture Ministry Yagub Ibrahimov said.

He said the samples taken from the melons and watermelons were analyzed.

“According to the results of the analysis, there is no problem in the watermelons. But there is more nitrate in the melons brought from Kurdamir region. In connection with this, the sale of this product has been banned,” he said.

Ibrahimov said such inspections are regularly held here, as most of the markets in Baku buy melons and watermelons from this market.
