SOCAR negotiates with the Czech and Slovak parties to supply Azerbaijani oil to the markets of these countries, SOCAR's deputy vice-president Vitaly Beylarbayov said.

"The negotiations with the Czech and Slovak parties on the delivery of Azerbaijani oil are at a preliminary stage," he said. "Of course, there is mutual interest and technical capabilities. It is necessary to turn this interest into a commercial agreement. It will be quite real to supply Azerbaijani oil."

SOCAR's representative said that the matter rests in mastering the routes of oil supply not only to the territory of the Czech Republic but also Slovakia and Hungary if it is possible.

"There is the concrete work," he said. "But one can not say this about the result."

He earlier said that about 45 percent of Azerbaijani oil is sold on the Mediterranean market. About 20 percent more is sold in North America.

Today, the work is underway to create the Eurasian oil transportation corridor. Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Georgia are interested in implementing this project.

SOCAR also considers the prospects for oil supplies to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary.

It will allow to more diversify the energy transportation routes by 2016.
