Azerbaijan has decreased oil and gas extraction in January-June, 2011.
According to State Statistical Committee, 23.878 mln tons of oil and 12.911 bcm of gas was extracted in 6 months of 2011, down 5.6% and 2.1% from year earlier.
Oil product increased by 3.3% compared to a year ago. Production in mining sector declined 4% during the same period.
