The Black Sea Oil Terminal of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) KuleviĀ (Georgia) successfully passed external surveillance audit conducted by Moody International on Nov.22-26, 2010.
No non-conformances from applied ISO and OHSAS standards were observed by external audit team members and all company processes found in compliance with process approach of Plan-Do-Check-Act.
Black Sea Terminal implemented and continually improves all management processes to achieve its main objectives, which are aimed:
To prevent accidents and ill health and provide the safest work place for its employees;
To prevent environmental pollution and contribute to protection of ecologically unique territories like Kolkheti National Park;
To exceed customer expectations and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
To ensure attainability of all those objectives the company has established hazard identification and risk assessment system, therefore risks related with all company activities are assessed and effectively controlled under Permit to Work system. Company management ensures that all incidents, near misses and emergencies are investigated and lessons learned distributed to all personnel.
Considering the high importance of professional and qualified human recourses the company has established an effective recruitment, personnel development and evaluation system. Periodical HSE, technical and administrative trainings are planned and conducted to improve knowledge and skills of personnel.
As one of the main spheres the legal compliance is very important for the company and all legal and other requirements applicable for company activities are identified and periodically updated and evaluation audits conducted to evaluate the level of compliance with applied legislation.
Company has established an environmental monitoring program which is aimed to periodically monitor the company aspects and impacts on environment and assign measures to minimize them lower than permissible concentrations.
Company plans, verifies and evaluates all its activities to ensure timely and qualitative services aimed to exceed customer expectations. The list of management methods applied by Black Sea Terminal is not limited only with above mentioned processes and all successful internal and external audits prove that company in all levels committed and involved in continual improvement.
It is worth to state that Black Sea Terminal's integrated management system was certified within short period after operation start by Moody International LLC (accredited by UKAS - United Kingdom Accreditation Service) in 2008 and this was the second surveillance audit conducted since that time. Next re-certification audit will be conducted in November of 2011.
