Azerbaijan imported 1,919 tons of tobacco worth $5,983 in January-October, 2010, the State Customs Committee said.
This figure is 4.8% less than tobacco imports carried out in the same period of 2009. Meanwhile, 9,122,983 pieces of tobacco products worth $179,689 were imported which is by 0.2% less than 10 months of 2009.
As of November 1, tobacco exports amounted to 1,604 tons for $4,258, a rise of 6.9% from the data for January-October last year. In turn, tobacco exports amounted to 116,090 thousand pieces worth $936.1 thousand, which is 28% less than volume for the comparable period last year.
