03 December 2008 [10:09] - Today.Az
Today, no country in the world can rival Azerbaijan in high prices, said deputy Camil Hasanly.
"I do not know whether markets are functioning by the state or market system, but on the background of decline in prices on most things throughout the world, everything goes more expensive here with every passing day", said he.
At the same time, the deputy reminded that during the rise in prices on energy sources, including fuel, the government explained its decision by a desire to correspond to the world prices. Yet, Hasanly noted that currently fuel prices are declining in the world, while in Azerbaijan they remain the same.
"Prices on different goods in Azerbaijan do not decline due to the monopolization of all spheres of import of goods to the country and some people use these spheres, as if they have taken them for rent", said the deputy.
