October consumer prices in Azerbaijan rose 0.8% over September and 21.6% over the past year.

Day.Az reports with reference to the state statistical committee of Azerbaijan that in particular foodstuffs, drinks and tobacco rose in price by 1% in September as compared to August and 30% over the past year, while the rise in prices on nonfoods was 1.1% and 11,5% and services 0.1% and 11.6% respectively.

The structure of price growth on consumer goods within a month is as follows:

- sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and sweets - 2.8%;
- butter and far - 0.4%;
- coffee, tea, cacao - 1.4%;
- meat products - 0.4%;
- fish - 2.3%:
- bread and cereals - 0.1%;
- dairy products, cheese and eggs - 2.5%
- beer - 1.4%;
- vegetables - 4.3%;
- alcohol drinks - 0.2%;
- tobacco - 0.4%.

At the same time fruits drop in price by 0.9% and butter and fat 0.1%.

The structure of price growth on nonfoods:

- clothes - 2.2%;
- materials - 0.6%;
- footwear - 1.8%;
- building materials - 0.3%;
- household facilities - 0.7%;
- medicines - 1.3%.

In October of 2008 the basic index of consumer prices made 100.7% over the past month and 122.9% over the past year.
