Azerbaijan recorded 1783 expatriates, engaged in its economic sector, as of January 1 of 2008.
The due information was provided by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Day.Az reports.
According to the announcement, most expatriates are engaged in oil sector and the remaining ones in construction.
"The majority of expatriates are from Turkey, Great Britain, Russia, Georgia, China and India", the press service says.
It should be noted that the number of expatriates recorded in our country in 2006 was 1315 people.
