The National Bank of Azerbaijan plans to introduce banknotes of AZN 200 in the near future.
The due information has been provided by Elman Rustamov, chief executive of the National bank of Azerbaijan, on Monday, Day.Az reports. He said this decision has been caused by growing interest in banknotes of AZN 50 and AZN 100.
"In line with international practice and according to the rules of the financial market, it is necessary to issue new banknotes", he said.
Rustamov considers that the National Bank is technically fully ready to this step. Yet, it will not occur this year.
