Azerbaijan's government to continue supporting development of entrepreneurship in the country.
The due announcement was made by President Ilham Aliyev at a conference by results of four year implementation of the state program of socioeconomic development of regions for 2004-2008.
"Entrepreneurship is largely supported and the private sector has a political support. Economic reforms will continue with new state programs to be implemented. There is a good potential for it. It is necessary to ensure their exact use on spots", I.Aliyev said.
According to him, the government continues providing lax credits to entrepreneurs and this year their volume will make up AZN 95,000,000.
The President noted that the Azerbaijan Investment Company also provides assistance to the private sector. "This evidences state support to entrepreneurship development", I.Aliyev announced.
The head of state noted that the country has reached success in the development of oil sector. "It is now necessary to develop the non-oil sector", I.Aliyev said.
He noted that country's leadership pays special attention to the development of energy sector. In particular, it is proposed to launch new capacities at 3,000 MW in 2004-2009. "Of them 700 MW have already been launched and the remaining ones will be launched in the next two years", I.Aliyev noted.
The president underlined that significant investments are allocated for construction and replacement of energy distribution lines.
"There has not been any problems with energy supply this cold winter. It is not ruled out that it will be exported in the coming years. I have given instructions on the development of alternative energy sources, primarily, to arrange construction of hydroelectric power stations at most rivers", the President noted.
I.Aliyev announced that the process of country's gasification will continue. He said all regional centers, except for 1-2 regions, have been supplied with gas. I.Aliyev noted that the gasification level makes up 80% and a task to supply gas to the whole country has been set. "Azerbaijan already exports gas and we need to meet inner demands", the President noted.
The President noted that the government is ready to raise credits and invest to provision of fresh water to the population and develop road infrastructure.
He underlined that large investments will be raised to our country for improvement of social infrastructure in 2008. In particular, up to $1,000,000,000 will be invested to education and large funds will be sent to construction of medical institutions.
The President noted that country's leadership will further invest into the improvement of housing conditions of refugees and IDP. $400,000,000 have already been used for these purposes and another $500,000,000 will be used as extra funds.
