The US Citibank may receive a license on opening of a representative office in Azerbaijan.
The due announcement was made by Rufat Aslanly, deputy Chief Executive of the National Bank Thursday.
He said the Citibank has already received a preliminary permission and during February the National Bank will consider licensing of the US bank.
As has been reported, the Citibank representation will possibly be reorganized into a daughter bank or an affiliate in the future, in line with the bank's strategy.
