Azerbaijan’s 2008-2011 State Investment Program is predicted to take AZN 15.6 billion, country’s Ministry of Economic Development reports.
“Of this, AZN 12.4 billion (79.5%) is expected to come from domestic and AZN 3.2 billion (20.5%) from external sources. Investment expenditures are predicted at AZN 4.2 billion for this year, of which AZN 3.4 billion including AZN 566 million from State Oil Fund (SOFAZ), and AZN 670 million from external sources. The investment expenditures of the state budget will be over AZN 2.8 billion, or 50% up from 2007,” said the ministry in a statement.
AZN 1.9 billion was allotted from the state budget in 2007 for implementation of different projects.
25.5% of investments went to transportation, 19.1% to energy and industry, 12.9 to infrastructure, 6.3% to water stocks and irrigation, 5.1% to farming and entrepreneurship, 3.6% to construction of schools, 2.2% to construction, reconstruction and repair of sports facilities, 1.8% to construction and reconstruction of cultural facilities, etc.
