Today's session of the parliament discussed electricity supply to the population, and its debts.
Deputy Arzu Samedbeyli was the first to touch upon the issue of electricity supply and payment for it. He drew attention of his colleagues to experimental buildings of Baku, which were not connected to gas supply system and relied on electricity.
"Baku accounts for 30-40 of such buildings. In 1996 Heydar Aliyev passed a decree according to which the residents of such buildings must pay 50% of fee for consumed energy. Yet, these privileges were later eliminated. Imagine that the total amount of consumed electricity makes up 250-300 AZN per month. It is an incredible sum", he said.
Samedbeyli proposed to the Parliament to appeal to the Prime Minister with the initiative to either restore privileges of 1996 or supply these buildings with gas.
His colleague Igbal Agazade announced that a limit of energy supply had been adopted orally for various districts of Baku.
"Electricity is cut temporarily in the Khatai district from 01:00 a.m. until 05:00 a.m. three days a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Everyone to whom we appeal say in an unofficial conversations that it is connected with an applied limit. What is this limit and what is it caused with? Do they lack energy or are not able to collect fees for consumed electric energy? They shouldn't have raised prices on energy sources. If they through that everything will be all right with payments and energy supply, they must ensure non-stop energy supply". Agazade said.
Deputy Ali Masimli recalled sessions of the President of Azerbaijan, connected with preparations for winter and gas and electricity supply to the population.
"Despite the statements of the leaders of these structure, life proves existence of serious problems. For example, gas and electricity are cut temporarily in various residential settlements. Nobody thinks of the difficulties family face with infants, elderly and ill-health people in winter. We must unite and rise against it", Masimli said.
Deputy Panakh Guseyn repeated his proposal on the necessity to eliminate debts of the population for the period, when meters was not established.
"We demand to provide the population with electricity and gas at least on holidays", P.Guseyn said.
