As of May 1, the National Bank of Azerbaijan's assets grew to AZN 2,874,863, up 7.8% from the New Year, 2007.
The cash assets declined 69.3% to AZN 24.967 million, liabilities owned to credit organizations fell 8.7% to AZN 89.913 million and investments in securities grew 0.76% to AZN 200.111 million. The National Bank's accounts with IMF decreased 5.2% to AZN 215.476 million while assets in non-resident banks jumped 13.1% to AZN 2.284,106 billion. The face value of in-circulation currency notes rose 6.7% to AZN 1.546,405 billion, payables to the state agencies rose 4.9 times to AZN 529.796 million while to credit organizations fell 54.2% to AZN 272.509 million as at May 1. The issued securities totaled to AZN 125.012 million at face value, up 11% from early this year. The accounts payable to the IMF fell 4% to AZN 318.004 million.
