The Tariff Council, State Price Regulator of Azerbaijan, has received a package of proposals to reconsider railway tariffs.

The country's Economic Development Minister, Chairman of the Tariff Council, Heydar Babayev told a press conference that the charges should be economically efficient so that all freights are transited via Azerbaijan, APA reports.

"We didn't discuss these proposals at May 14 meeting of the council. We think that there is a need for competitive prices. We should also take account of other countries' price policy. We have had discussion with relevant bodies of Kazakhstan," he added.
