The revenues of Azerbaijan's state budget were AZN 1.0868 billion against the planned 1.1216 billion (96.6%) for the first quarter of 2007, 58.3% more than a year earlier.
The inflows came 71.6% through the Taxes Ministry, 15.3% through the Customs Committee, 10.4% from the State Oil Fund, 1.8% from budget-funded organizations, 0.8% from other sources and 0.1% through the State Committee for Public Property Management. The Taxes Ministry met the target by 94.7% (87.6% year-on-year rise) and the Customs Committee 101.7% (+31.4%). The State Oil Fund transferred AZN 112.5 million. The state budget's expenditures were AZN 834.6 million against the planned AZN 1.1256 billion (74.1%), up 25.6% from the same period last year. Durign this period 50.3% of the budget expenditures were social-oriented, up 56.8% from the same period last year. The state budget surplus stood at AZN 252.2 million (about $292 million) for January-April period, the country's Finance Ministry told APA-Economics.
